Jointly with the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues, IOM celebrated Global Diaspora Week (13 - 16 October 2015) in Georgia. Various events, exhibitions, Information Day on Diaspora Engagement for Development, charity concerts, conferences, were organized in the framework of the Global Diaspora Week with participation of special invited guests, Mr. Thomass Debbas, Deputy Special Representative of Secretary's Office of Global Partnerships, Mr. Serzh Srapionian, Deputy Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Leon Isaacs, CEO of Developing Market Associations from Ireland, Ms. Mercy Tembon, World Bank Group Director to South Caucacus.
On 13 October, the Office of the State Minister of Georgia, in close cooperation with IOM, hosted Regional Economic Forum, where all the invited guests and keynote speakers, the State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues, Mr. Gela Dumbadze, Ambassador of USA to Georgia, Mr. Ian Kelly and IOM Georgia Chief of Mission, Ms. Ilyana Derilova, welcomed the participants, who engaged later in panel discussions on such topics as Financial Inclusion and Revolutionary Initiatives, Armenia's Experience in Diaspora Engagement, Acting Diaspora Business Councils and Chambers Overseas, Financial Instruments for Diaspora Investors, Diaspora Investment Projects in Georgia.
On 15 October all participants of the Global Diaspora Week traveled to Kakheti Region, where they visited IOM-funded businesses of Georgian returnees.

Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues used this opportunity to launch its new Diaspora Web Portal www.tanamemamule.ge, developed with IOM's support.
