IOM Provides Presentational Skills Training for the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia

19 - 21 April 2017

With European Union funding under the “More for More” project and at the request of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia (MRA), IOM trained 7 officials in Presentational Skills from 19-21 April 2017 at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Tbilisi. Those in attendance included officials from the quality control and legal departments of the Ministry as well as those engaged in decision making. The 3-day training course was designed to assist those who required to make presentations on behalf of the Ministry to external audiences but also as a platform for those who are increasingly engaged in training within the Ministry.

The training course is designed to be as practical as possible in pursuit of the goal of delivering effective presentations.  As such the training course provides the opportunity to not only receive suggestions and tips on common pitfalls in delivering training and presentations but also the opportunity for all seven officials to make two presentations each and to be filmed in doing so.  In expressing thanks to IOM upon completion of the course, Irine Giorgadze, Arabic specialist from the MRA made the following comments: “These three days were extremely interesting and beneficial for us. In light of IOM’s previous training for us under the project we had high expectations and we haven’t been disappointed.  We sincerely appreciate all the guidance and constructive criticism provided and feel much more prepared to further improve our presentational skills.”
