Lithuanian Expert Trains Georgian Forensic-Criminalistics Department

Under the EU-funded More for More project IOM arranged training in Sample Preparation for experts from the Forensic-Criminalistic Department of the Ministry of Interior. Between 7-9 June 2016, Izolda Žvironaitė covered such topics as the extraction of drugs made in clandestine labs from alkaline and acid solutions and the extraction of drugs from used syringes for similar analysis. 

Various other areas of specialist examination and sample preparation were also included in the training and there was also opportunity for those present to share and compare experiences with the Lithuanian expert.  Giorgi Beridze, Quality Assurance Manager of the Forensic-Criminalistic Department welcomed the training and commented as follows “Not only is the content of the training important for the improvement of our current operations but also for facilitating the continuation of our cooperation with the Government of Lithuania.”
